I have yet to find a vet more compassionate and understanding to both the pet and the owner's needs. Their rates are extremely reasonable as far as the rates go. The doctor has a realistic attitude when it comes to treatment and is very positive and encouraging when you have a long term condition that you are dealing with. My little dog had a devastating heart condition and they worked with me closely and when I needed to speak with the doctor, he would always call back within the hour. I totally recommend this vet to anyone needing vet services. Oh yeah, the office staff and assistants are very very nice (even when they are busy) they show real interest in me and me pets and help to make our visits more comfortable and welcoming. They even have people treats :)

We've had nothing but good experiences here at Raymond Avenue clinic. Doctor Kay is friendly and calm, always conveying a sense that you are in good hands. He is very thorough, and yet we never get the feeling that he's adding on unnecessary tests or procedures for a mark-up, so we always walk away feleing like we've given our dog, Wilson, the best care possible. The staff are very friendly, and always seem excited to "see an old friend" whenever we bring him in (Sara always remembers him by name). They seem to love what they do as much as they love the animals they work with, and that's the most important thing to us!

I adopted my cat four years ago and we've been through a lot together, including many different vets. She had numerous surgeries before I adopted her, so it's always been hard to get an accurate diagnosis without her full history. Every few months she has pretty dramatic behavioral changes and every time I had taken her to the vet, they've never figured out what's going on, despite hundreds of $$ in tests. That was until I found Raymond Vet Hospital. One look at her xrays (from a diff vet) and Dr. Kay points out her arthritis. Which, if you knew my cat, explains a lot - she doesn't jump, falls over, gets cranky with weather changes, etc. Amazing! Three years later, and I have finally have a cat who is feeling better again! I like that they take a holistic approach here. A few homeopathic remedies and some acupucture later, and my cat seems so much happier - and without drugs or surgery. The staff is very sweet and welcoming, the office is clean, and the prices are the most reasonable I've found in the area. I highly recommend it!!

This is possibly the greatest veterinarian hospital I've ever encountered.

I have a guinea pig, which I bought at Petco (in Pasadena). One morning we discovered an open sore on its side and rushed it to the Animal Hospital a block away from Petco. They were absolutely no help, and said that they couldn't take Kitty (the guinea pig) until an afternoon appointment. When we said it was an emergency, they said that they would charge extra just to take it in then. They had absolutely nothing to do but were going to charge extra. Boooo! But they recommended Raymond Avenue Veterinary Animal Hospital when we asked for recommendations of other places.

So, off to the new place we went. It was amazing. The facilities were clean and we were taken almost right away. The best part was the fact that they even took in guinea pigs, since many animal hospitals don't. Dr. Kay and the other workers were all very kind. They diagnosed what my guinea pig had (benign tumors) and were able to perform surgery on him just a few days later. The pricing was a lot less than we expected, and the people who work there remember Kitty whenever we go :)

Best. Animal. Hospital. Ever.

This place stands out from all the other Veterinary hospitals. Aside from the fact that the place is visibly clean, the staff are genuinely compassionate about all animals. They're also friendly and efficient. The best thing about this place? Dr. Kay. He gives his full attention and compassion to all his patients as if they're his only patient in the world. Vets from other places give you generalized advice that applies to all animals. He's also good at following up on his patients. He knows how important our pets are to us. Now, that's very refreshing.

I've been to other Veterinary hospitals, and believe me, I wouldn't bring my baby anywhere else.

This is the best pet hospital I have been to in all of Southern California. The staff is friendly and great with the animals, and Dr. Kay is very knowledgeable. I wouldn't trust anybody else with my pets, and the prices are usually lower than the other vets I've been to. But mostly, I keep going back to Raymond because the people there go out of their way to make sure I'm happy.

Every time I have an emergency, I can always count on Dr. Kay and the folks at Raymond Hospital. My dog had gotten sick suddenly and I didn't know what to do. I rushed him to Raymond, and Dr. Kay checked him up and treated him. He stayed overnight, and the next day I picked him up and he was fine again! I'm so grateful to Dr. Kay for being available and taking such good care of my puppy. Whenever I go by the hospital, everybody always asks me how my dog is doing. Great customer service and great vet services!

My family and I are very happy to have gotten back in touch with Dr. K and his staff. Since selling his practice in Monrovia a few years ago it's been a bit a of a challenge finding that "right fit" for our brood. But now we can rest easy! Sara remembered Jasper and I the second we walked in the door! We were greeted with a big smile and "welcome back!"

Dr. K practices holistic medicine for animals and some may be skeptical but we are all about using these methods vs. pumping our children full of meds they don't need. One treatment is acupuncture..yes you heard me...acupuncture...we have two dogs with hip dysplasia and this has proven to be a very effective remedy for them. And since Dr. K went back to school he has learned of an even more effective method of the procedure that should have an even longer lasting effect that just the tiny needles!! (which are not painful at all...Jasper slept through his whole session!) :)

It's a smaller facility, not luxuirous, but I don't mind that, keeps my cost down! Dr. K is very knowledable, patient and caring. I will reccomend him to anyone looking for a new Vet!

I was so happy to "find" Dr. Kay (Mohiuddin) back in practice after a few years of retirement. He had helped my previous dog with arthritis and hip dysplasia and is currently a god-send for my lab who had seizures. Since she has been getting acupuncture, she has had no episodes and seems to be even more well-balanced. Dr. Kay has such a calm, kind, loving way with animals. I feel totally confident to put my loved one's care in his very capable hands. I will continue to recommend Dr. Kay to friends.

The Pasadena Humane Society sent me there. Boy oh boy, what a gem in the rought. It's got plenty of heart and soul place. My dog, Barkley loves this place. Spotless, fresh, spacious, light and comfortable. Deuxe service at working folk prices!!! Hearts of gold and love for the critters!!!!!

I'm on work comp at the moment, so obviously funds are limited. There is nothing worse than needing help and not being able to afford it. Somehow, they always find a way to care of my dog and help me with a solution. Best of all, I've never left feeling anything but gratitude for such wonderful service and generosity of spirit. Your're pet's health always comes first.

Dr. Kay, Sarah, Monica, and the other wonderful folks who care for our pets are just amazing. It seems they all are little animal whisperers. I don't know how they do it, but they always seem to remember every animals name, likes and dislikes, perssonality quirks as well. To me, to that is absolutely phenomenal. I don't know how they manage, especially when you consider the number of critters they heal every day. My hats off to them!!!!

I have always received excellent care and attention for my cat. Started seeing Dr. K a year ago for alternative treatments for my cat who has crf, hypertension, arthritis, and is practically blind.

As with any healthcare practice, you have to ask questions and understand your treatment options and the costs associated with them. My cat has and is still receiving acupuncture & photon treatments along with conventional meds and tests. It really improved my cat's life. I would recommend alternative treatment.

I admit it, my cats are my kids. If I had more room, I'd have dogs too, and they'd be my kids too! So when my big gray guy (Tucker) got sick, I was lucky to have the docs at Raymond Ave as my regular vets. Dr. Kay is so nice, and you can tell he truly loves animals. I love the fact that it's always Dr. Kay that I deal with. Even though he has hundreds (more?) of patients, I always feels like he remembers my cats. He evens calls a few days after seeing Tucker, asking how he is doing, how I'm doing (I'm the one who has to force meds down his throat - and it's amazing how many claws and paws a cat can grow when he doesn't want something forced down his throat!), and he also suggested some alternative treatments for his, um, "blockage." I'll spare you the rest of the gory details! I'm happy to have found a good vet so close to my home.

My past experience with Raymond Ave. Vet Service/Hospital has always been a pleasant. You know that there are times as a dog/cat owner I sometimes don't like what I hear, but in the long run of things and life's events, my dogs have always like the attention, concern and loving from the staff and doctors. My opinion.... if the dogs like this environment and happy to go throught the front door, it's good for me and my animals.

My sister and I both used Dr.K for many many years and we both found him to be very kind and passionate to our animals. Sometimes you had to wait a bit to be seen, as he takes so much time with his patients and their families. In the years when my children were growing up we had so many animals, rabbits, ferrets, Ginny pigs, dogs, cats, and several birds. All of these animals at one time or other needed Veterinary help and Dr. K. took care of all of them...NEVER EVER did we encounter a problem with Dr. K , his staff, or his charges. I've since moved to Nevada and I don't think we'll ever find a Veterinarian we can feel as confidant with as Dr. K.

After being new to the area and trying other vets, I was very happy to find Dr. Kay. He takes the time to explain things, and he offers holistic options. My dog had severe allergies and Dr. Kay recommended that I start giving my dog fish oil & a nutrition powder w/probiotics & other supplements, and my dog LOVES it. We make a gravy out of the powder and put it on his food, and he will not eat it unless he has his gravy now. And he licks the bowl clean! I'd rather have him eating that which is good for him, then have him on meds for the rest of his life (he's 12). I wish found Dr. Kay before spending $200 at the first vet I tried + $365 at the Doggie Dermatologist that the first vet referred me to because they couldn't help. Dr. Kay warned us upfront that since we chose to forgo a biopsy, it would be trial and error until we found something that worked for our little guy. That's fine with me - I'd rather experiment with things that are good for him, rather than try various prescription drugs that can have side effects (which is what the doggie derm recommended).

Thank you Dr. Kay!

Thank you Dr. K. for the tour of the hospital. It is state of the art equipment and clean facility. I love the reception staff they are nice and caring. Love Sara she seems to remember every client name. I definitely recommend you pet lovers to get to know Dr. K

Dr. Kay and the entire staff have been really supportive. Our best Friend Riley has developed Cancer. When we first brought him in with prostate concerns Dr. kay was very thorough he didn't want to rule out anything. He put Riley's needs first and for most his main concern was Riley's suffering. We got a call the very next day with the results "on a Saturday no less". The staff let us know our options and were completely ok with our decision on how to move forward, and they did not judge us at all. We have come up with a plan to keep him healthy and happy. The best part is Dr. Kay is starting non invasive no intrusive holistic therapy. He did not push anything on us and is always keeping Riley needs first. Raymond Ave. vet is really a good safe place to bring your loved ones. I think its hard to accept when a family member is sick, and just like a humans medical care it can be expensive what would you pay for your own health.... There are no scams here, only love and care, and yes sometimes you have to pay for good health. Raymond Ave. vet is far from a rip off if anyone out there has ever had any Vet experience they should know better . Thanks Dr. Kay and staff.

I had a great experience at this clinic. I had taken my dog Rufus to another clinic in the area, and after spending a lot of money and receiving different medications, the problem with Rufus persisted. I decided to try Dr. K's clinic because my coworker goes there and he is as much a dog lover as I. After Rufus's examination with Dr. K, I felt comforted that I came to the right place. He spent about 45 minutes with Rufus and I, and answered all my questions. Also, I was struck by how well Dr. K handled Rufus. He is a big dog and gets nervous when I take him to the vet, but Dr. K somehow made him very calm and cooperative. Dr. K prescribed a new medication for Rufus and told me to discontinue the medication I had received from the previous hospital. In a few days, I could see Rufus's condition improving, and after a few weeks his problem had completely subsided. I am very pleased that I went to Dr. K's office, and even happier that Rufus found a vet he is comfortable with. I also just wanted to say that his staff was very caring and courteous and called me more than once to inquire how Rufus was doing. I would recommend Dr. K's office to anyone.

After reading some of the bad reviews I have to say that I'm surprised. Vet bills are expensive. Unless you have pet insurance, you could easily end up paying way more for your pet's illness than for a human member of your family. That's just a fact of life. And sometimes our pets die even though we take them to the vet. That's usually not the vet's fault - it's just that our pet was too sick for the vet to do anything. What is shocking to me is that people think that when their pet dies at the vet that they dont have to pay their vet bill! This animal hospital has great doctors. My dog had an attack of pancreatitis and we were so worried about her. Dr. Hsuan was on duty when I came in and she immediately knew what to do in order to get our dog back on her feet by the next day. She did not try to inflate the bill, like some other reviewers have claimed. She explained the purpose of each aspect of the treatment and it all made sense and for that reason I was happy to pay the bill. I might also add that compared to other vets I have been to the prices at Raymond are quite competitive. Our dog recovered quickly and when I came in for a recheck Dr. Hsuan helped us plan a new preventative diet and feeding regimen that will keep this from happening again. If she didnt care about my dog, and only cared about money, she would not have done that, since it would have been more profitable to just let her keep coming in with repeat bouts of pancreatitis. I'd also like to add that the reception staff was very friendly and professional and seemed really interested in how my dog was. When I went back for a recheck they remembered me and asked me how she was doing. I was very impressed by the whole staff and could tell that they all loved animals.

I have taken all my dogs to Dr. K for several years. He is thoughtful when diagnosing and is conservative when recommending treatment. He blends Eastern and Western medicine so your animal receives the best of both kinds of medicine. He promptly returns phone calls. He is an active listener so I feel assured that he has heard what my concerns are. I have complete faith about the way in which he cares for the health and welfare of my dogs. He rates 5 stars with me.

We took our cat to Dr. K after he was practically dying slowly from complications of surgery done elsewhere. Dr. K was able to provide several options to get him to eat and feel better as well as correctly diagnosed the recurrent bladder infection which was apparently the entire problem. As a people doctor, I found him to be very knowledgeable and a good vet. It's harder for me to speak about the effectiveness of his pet alternative treatments, but he seems very good at traditional veterinary medicine.na, CA.

I love this place! Sara was extremely helpful over the phone and even more helpful when I got there. My puppy felt right at home with Dr. Mohiuddin. He even offered me a free sample of puppy food. Awesome! It was my first time bringing an animal here and it won't be my last! Thanks!

I have been bringing my dogs here for the past 4 years. Charlie, a tri-colored Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has heart disease, diabetes, and skin allergies. I bring him in every week to have his blood glucose tested by Robert and/or Roger who are both so nice and caring with him. I would say that every few weeks, Charlie has something going on that I need to bring him in for. Raymond Avenue is the only Vet I know who I can bring him in without an appointment and he will be seen pretty quickly. Today I noticed that Charlie was licking the bottom of his paw which made me fear an infection by something he might have stepped on, which I take seriously because of his Diabetes. I called as I was heading toward my car and they could see him immediately. I find the whole staff caring and nice. I always bring along my other dog, Chandler, although he has been pretty healthy. He barks a lot and has an incredibly loud bark so can be extremely annoying. The staff at RA never make me feel bad about this, for which I am very grateful! Thank you.

I was extremely hesitant to use this vet after reading the comments on Yelp, but I had an emergency and this was the only vet that would take my animal the same day I called, and the only vet that didn't charge $125+ for emergent care. Upon my visit, I was greeted pleasantly and compassionately by the support staff and within 20 minutes, I was with the doctor. He was extremely informative and not only addressed my bunny's immediate issue, but also pointed out some other health issues that were being caused by my bunny's diet that could become future problems. As for the cost, it was right in line with what my regular vet would have charged for the same services during a scheduled appt- office visit, labs and meds. Anyone complaining about the fees or bait and switch obviously doesn't equate a Veterinarian with being a Medical Doctor. It is not cheap or easy to treat animals, they run the same tests as they do on people and one should not presume that they are being overcharged just because they can't relate their animals health care to the actual costs. When are you not charged individually for health care?? It happens all the time with people but since health insurance pays most of the cost, people do not see the breakdown of charges. And remember that these animal docs have it more difficult than human docs since the patient can't tell them what is wrong. They may have to run additional tests when the conservative treatment doesn't work. My advice, and I have been to A LOT of vets, this vet is a real doctor and will advise you of your pets health issues and recommend appropriate treatment, starting with the most conservative. If you go a vet that just treats your animal for what you ask for and doesn't evaluate the overall health of your pet, or the cause of the problem that brought you there, you are endangering your animals health. Would you go to an internist and tell them how to treat you or would you trust their advice? Would you turn down care for yourself because it costs too much? Bottom line... If you can't afford the bill, you shouldn't have a pet.
